This piece is part of my month-long project of building brand awareness for a local business, The Blossom Lounge, by creating a new website and making their content more accessible to customers. Feel free to follow along on my journey!

This week was centered around social media marketing. I did this by creating ads on Instagram.

Last Week

Last week was spent finishing up the website I built by adding an FAQ page and chatbot. These additions are meant to make the website, even more, user-friendly and accessible.

This Week I:

  • Learned how to build ads
  • Created three Instagram ads
  • Organized all the content created this month
  • Filmed a Loom video
  • Wrote two blog posts

How to Build ads

Since I hadn’t created ads before this, I needed to learn how Facebook ads work and how to create them. Once I got accustomed to the setup of everything, this process was fairly easy and straightforward.

Instagram ads

Once I learned how Facebook ads worked, I moved on to create the ads. I looked at the business I did this for, The Blossom Lounge, and thought about the pain points they solve and who they solve them for. I then created the ads with this information in mind.

Content Created This Month

Since this is the final week of my month-long project, I also needed to get everything I created this month organized and updated. I’ve been publishing each week’s work as I go, so it isn’t too much work. The main task was touching up my project landing page and adding more structure to it.

Loom Video

Using what I learned, I filmed a brief Loom video going over the basics of Facebook ads and how to create them. I wanted to share a quick guide on how to build ads.

Blog Posts

I then wrote two blog posts, one which you’re currently reading and the other about the Instagram ads I created. In the latter, I show the ads and explain my thought process behind them.

What I Learned

One thing I’ve learned this week is how useful it is to get tasks done earlier on. Doing this gives you more time to receive feedback and makes you worry less about all the work you still need to do. Learning how to use Facebook Ads is also a useful skill I learned this week.

What I’d Do Differently

There honestly isn’t much I’d do differently this week. Everything went smoothly and I was able to stay on track. This week went great and is the perfect way to end the month on a high note.
